On Sabbat, we went to an English Speaking church. It is based in an old workshop where Gil’s dad used to work, which was later converted into a church. The tradition here after each meeting is for everyone to shake hands.

Gil met some people she knew: Frédine, the Union président’s wife, her daughter Rika, and Sylvana, a Mauritian girl who used to attend the same church as Gil in Mauritius.

Le Sabbat, on est allé à l’église Anglophone. Le batiment est un ancien atelier de bois ou travaillait le père de Gil, qui a été reconverti en église. La tradition ici c’est qu’apres chaque rencontre tout le monde se serre la main.

Gil a rencontré des gens qu’elle connaissait: Frédine, la femme du president de l’union, sa fille Rika, et Sylvana, une mauricienne qui allait à la meme église que Gil à l’ile Maurice.
